Welcome to Winning Gone Wild.

Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself and the Winning Gone Wild website.

For over a decade I have been a slave to the Internet.

In 1995, during its infancy my partner and I began a small commercial nutrition website. We provided people with free information on diet, exercise and nutrition. We offered free one-on-one totally customizable personal fitness and bodybuilding training. And we sold nutritional supplements at, literally, the world’s lowest prices. People came, they looked and they purchased. We became a very large, fast growing force on the newly emerging commercial Web.

If you were on the Web back then, you know that all real, lasting success stories took time to develop, but time went by and we kept on growing.

Then things got crazy. We partnered up with various people and companies to deliver all manner of products and services to the newly emerging Internet market. Our one sterling silver success turned into a multitude of other similar successes. Time passed and everything grew.

Then we hit gold. We partnered with a corporate entity that was listed on one of the large Stock Exchanges and together we developed and co-marketed a variety of personal care products. We had some failures but soon our successes were seen everywhere on the Web. You couldn’t open a page on Yahoo or MSN without seeing something we sold. One thing led to another and that company became Intermix, a listed public corporation on the American Stock Exchange. The real business of Intermix was marketing products, but, oh yea, lest I forget, Intermix was also responsible for that “little” web phenomenon named My Space, which became the sixth most visited site on the Web and eventually sold to News Corp/Fox Interactive.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we still market a wide variety of products on the Internet and yes, you guessed it, today, eleven years later I am still a slave to the Internet.

It all sounds good, rewarding and richly deserving for a great guy like me but it had its price. Damn, it was hard to be intimately involved in all that Web stuff while putting in so many countless hours in on my true passion, gambling. We’ll let me be more accurate, horse playing.

I started out playing horses sitting at my Mom’s hip in the grandstand at Saratoga back in 1960 when I was four years old. I have never stopped. Sure, I had to slow up a lot in the seventies and early eighties as I set about getting numerous advanced degrees in the sciences. But I never stopped. In fact, I chose my first two colleges in Connecticut cities that were either on the fast train route to Belmont (Fairfield) or nearby state of the art OTB facilities (New Haven). While I won’t say that I put myself through school playing the races, thank heavens I had supportive parents, my race playing insured that I was never in need of spending money. In fact, my lifestyle was enviable back then. Racing allowed me a large beach house, no worries and a lot of cute co-eds in search of a good barbeque.

After I ran out of things to study, I began working for myself, so that I would have select days free to play the races. That worked out like a charm. So much so that I ended up at the track every day, not only playing but buying. My first claimer turned into two, then four then twelve…twenty and soon I had a breeding and racing farm with 200 head on it, half of them mine.

In 1995, the Internet began to distract me…but just a little. I pared down my racing operations considerably but continued to gamble. As the year 2000 rolled around, I started owning and breeding again. Today, with dozens of horses at various tracks and in paddocks in my “yard,” I guess you can say The Player is back at it full time.

Only this time, I will be smarter. I will blend my annoying desire to accomplish new things with my passion for winning at the races and at various other games of skill/chance. In other words, with all your help and support, I will create Winning Gone Wild.

Together we are all about to make new stuff happen. Sit back, enjoy and learn how to be a big winner, not only in gambling but in most everything that you do.

Winning Gone Wild is a combination of many different areas.

Some areas of the site might be more interesting to you than others, but they all have their place in helping to develop a winning culture.

The first area is a blog area.

When the site begins operation on July 26, 2006, our first blog will be posted. I will author it and it will concern itself with winning money betting two year old and inexperienced three year old races. I will make daily posts to the blog and your reactions and input, as always, will be greatly appreciated.

As the weeks pass, we will add more blogs. Some of them will be created and maintained by our staff here at Winning Gone Wild. Others we hope will be created by our membership and posted here, by us, for the world to see and learn from. If you have interest in obtaining blog permission here at the site, feel free to e-mail me directly at The Player. I will work with you to refine your idea and support your blog with the appropriate advertising and marketing push. Your ideas can include, but are not limited to, horse racing, poker, sports betting, casino play and fantasy leagues.

The second area is the comprehensive Forum covering all aspects of gambling.

There are some great forums out there for horse racing, for poker and for various other forms of gambling. Some of them are owned and run by friends of mine and I can attest to their professionalism and dedication to the cause. The Forum at Winning Gone Wild is in no way, shape or form meant to compete with any of these great Forums. In fact, whenever possible I will point members here to the better, interest aligned Forums operating out there and I encourage you all to fill each other in similarly. You can look for a list of my favorite forums in our Winning Links section.

My intention with the Winning Gone Wild comprehensive Forum is to give everyone a slightly different perspective, as I encourage the free flow of information, even when it is not politically correct. My goal here isn’t to be “The Man” that constantly proves his superiority over everyone. My goal is not to brush opinions under the table concerning controversial matters. I don’t want to answer the popular question of “Who’s your Daddy?” with an icon of my happy face. I don’t want to be your conscience or your censor.

If you like something out there; please tell people. If or when you don’t like something; please wake people up. When something smells fishy to you, then by all means, yes, warn everyone. No matter what your opinions or thoughts are, just stay real, and you will be a valued member of this community. In other words, speak your mind, say what you like, but remember the Golden Rule, “treat others as you would like to be treated.”

The bottom line is that posting to the Forum is not a requirement but it is, in fact, a great way for people, and us, to get to know you. We would love your input; ultimately, it will be what makes this site great.

The Forum kicks off, when the Site is operational on July 26, 2006. Don’t be disappointed if it takes a couple weeks to get a decent interaction going among members. Your efforts, today, will benefit all of us, including yourself, in the future. If you are interested in seeing just one way it will benefit you, look in the Contest Corner.

The third area is the Podcast Center.

Podcasts are full color videos that can be downloaded from the WGW site to your iPod or MP3 player. The Podcast corner is where you can find our entire library of Podcasts

The Podcast Center is currently under construction but should be available around Labor Day, 2006.

The fourth area is the Contest Corner.

This area of the site lists many of the contests that visitors to Winning Gone Wild might be interested in. Some of the contests listed are outside events hosted by a variety or organizations, while other contests are free of charge and are held right here on the site.

This area will also contain a gallery of members who are past winners.

The fifth area is the Winning Ticket.

The Winning Ticket is our &idquo;tip sheet&idquo that we give free to visitors. On big race days, we will handicap the entire card and give it away to members for free. Hopefully, it will allow you a second perspective on handicapping the races and lead you to more consistent winners.

The Winning Ticket can easily be printed and carried with you to the races.

The sixth area is Classroom.

Sometime in the early Fall of 2006, when our membership grows, we are going to begin offering free, on line courses in various aspects of gambling. There will be courses on poker, on betting horses, on betting sports and so forth.

The Classroom section of Winning Gone Wild is where you will find the schedule and materials necessary to continue your gambling education.

The seventh area is Library

The Library section of the site is where we will archive most sought after materials that have been posted here at Winning Gone Wild.

The eigth area is your lucky area; The WGW Gallery Girls

If you need an explanation of what this area contains, you need more help than we can offer. Go check it out for yourself!

The ninth area is our Winning Links area.

Now and then we find informative sites that you might benefit from. Some of these will be &idquo partner sites &idquo that have teamed up with us to make Winning Gone Wild better and more enjoyable for you.

This area lists all our favorite links. Look them over; you will be richer and better informed for the effort.
