Most of you know me, so you know I have deep connections overseas. And there are some aggressive opportunities there. But the US is starting to get their act together at least a little. There are places here giving 5-7 percent back and basically that was where the last generation of offshore spots were. Having the mentally challenged people at the helm of American racing as we do, and only being a generation or a generation and a half behind offshore spots, we'll that doesn't make me confident that in a couple blinks of an eye we might be right there.

Plus...think of a group of a million dedicated horseplayers all hanging out in one spot. A spot of gamblers, not politicians or administrators. A million people with a billion in wagering churn. Imagine that reaction when that group so much as grimaced about any stupid US policy.

That day might not be far away and all of us might be part of that group.

I'm with you La Reina...rebates are a nice perk to risking one's hard-earned dollars on races or sports betting. The real goal is to be a big enough and successful enough player so that they rebate by itself is like cashing a BIG ticket!!!!

I started a live money WPS play sting to see what effect the rebates had on overall wagering. Here is the deal. I only play 1-2, normally, races at a track on any day. But I am there everyday watching every race. I get a decent domestic rebate due to my level of play. But a lot of races go unplayed. So I started a WPS play string on races I normally sit out. Just pick a horse and play a standard $200 WPS play across the board. Calculate the return for each of the W, P and S bet strings. Raise the bets based on performance and see where I start to cost myself money in what pools at what tracks. With the rebate in my pocket from the bets, all I need to do is break even playing 2/3's of the races and come this winter I ought to be rebating a new Mercedes every month. That is if I can pick a horse.

I love live money experiments, they lack all that theoretical BS. You guys out to try this, you''ll like it.

That cant be done onshore, right? You'll start diggin' a hole real fast if you dont hit....what if you dont have a raise RELOAD, how can you take advantage of offshore straddles with say $500 total @ a time for the day?

South of Jacksonville there's an OTB Dog Track that upgraded with Flat screens and carrel booths....kinda nice and dark and a gettaway. I cashed a $100 place ticket and it pays>$385.47 I'm going>What's with the 47cents?
